Please join the City of Dallas' Office of Equity and Office of Fair Housing and Human Rights and buildingcommunintyWORKSHOP ([bc]) for a screening of the film "Segregated by Design," a short film based on the book The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein After the film there will be a panel discussion on the legacies of redlining in Dallas. The screening and discussion will take place at the South Dallas Cultural Center at 6 p.m. on August 6th, 2019.

[bc] will also present findings from the first installment of our State of Dallas Housing report. This report will assess the scale, distribution and impact of heirs property on neighborhoods and individuals in Dallas County.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Panelists TBA.

About Undesign the Redline Project:

In partnership with buildingcommunityWORKSHOP and other community-focused organizations and individuals, The City of Dallas' Office of Equity and Office Fair Housing and Human Rights are currently developing the City of Dallas Undesign the Redline Project, customizing the interactive, nationally renowned exhibit to both deeply explore the history of segregation and racial injustice in Dallas and also thoughtfully plan ways to 'undesign' the remnants of those systemic injustices.
